4 of Wands

March 18th

General Meaning:
Planning for an event, time for initiating or drafting a plan for some important future activity. Traditionally this card means celebration and coming of age.

My story:
To me this card represents end of winter and early spring, when the early flowers and grass are not yet peeking through but the snow is ready to melt. The earth is warming in anticipation, still waiting for action. So in the reading it might mean that you or someone is waiting for some sort of action, for something to happen and even though nothing has happened yet, it is coming very soon.

One time I pulled this card when it was time for my son was about to start daycare for the first time in his life. It was an exciting and happy time to see my son grow and learn and to gain more independence from us, but at the same time filled with concern and worry. How will he adjust? How will we adjust?
Even though I was nervous, I knew that starting daycare will be one of the best things ever for our little one, and even though the whole thing was pretty nerve wrecking, I was planning on having a little celebration the weekend before and the weekend after his first day.
Another time I pulled this card when some relatives were planning on coming for a visit and even though they were not there yet, the tickets were purchased and suitcases were ready for packing.

7 of Wands

February 18th

General Meaning:
Traditionally means you have an advantage even though you are outnumbered and the way to maintain your advantage is to stay mindful of your personal position and keep your focus. Do not give up your principles and things that matter to you just to keep the peace.

Also this card means being exposed to new cultures and customs. interesting and stimulating exchange that changes us and at the same time we change those who comes in contact with us.
The good ideas stick and outmoded ideas may be left in the dust waiting to be rediscovered.

My story:
I pulled this card when my husband and I were having conflicts with people who did not approve of our ideas about raising OUR son. LOL yes, people raised hell when they realized that we want to raise our child our way and not theirs.
I took the meaning of the card as not letting people change us and sticking to what WE believe is good for our son. People had a choice to either grow up and begin to respect us and our parenting decisions or show themselves out.
Even though we were outnumbered, we had the power to say "no" and we stood our grounds no matter what.

5 of Wands

February 10th

General Meaning:
Banter and gaming, friendly rivalry. The older man mentoring and challenging the skills of the younger male, knowing he will inevitably forfeit his power to him.

My story:
Usually this cart is pointing to so sort of patronage, usage of condescending tone with someone, desire to show your superiority, a rivalry, not intended to defeat but to teach and guide to the right path. A warning here to stop and think, what is that you want to accomplish? Do you wish to irritate and push someone away with your lectures or do you wish for them to listen to you and possibly take your advice? If the latter, then change the way you preach. Most times this card came up in the reading, one person tried to pass on their experience in knowledge to another, but in such a way that their offer of help was rejected. Change the ways you present the information to others and who knows, you might be heard.

Queen of Wands

January 3rd

General Meaning:
Making something out of nothing. Suspended activity.

My story:

To me this card represents a person who makes something out of nothing. One has to be careful around this person for they will turn around anything and everything and use it against you. their tendency to exaggerate is ridiculous.

Here is an example: You have been invited to a party by this woman and you politely decline, explaining that you are extremely exhausted and attending a party would be too much for you, considering your current condition.
Next day you find out that she blew it out of proportioned and accused you of being hateful and raising hell in response to her kind invitation. Queen of Wands tends to break off relationships with loved ones in the heat of the moment and use anything you say against you.
If you tell this woman to say hi to her brother and that you have missed him, she will tell her brother that you are mad at him because he hasn't visited you in a while, even though you never said such a thing

Prince of Wands

December 22nd

General Meaning:
The new day and new endeavor. There is much work that has been done already; now you have come to a new level and there is more work and rapid growth to be done before results can be seen. This card suggests learning new forms of communication, learning new technologies, going back to school, learning foreign language, and the beginning of a meaningful relationship. All of this is done with joy and willingness to go forward.

My story:
This card came up in a reading for my husband when a time came for him to go back to work after spending a year raising our son. He was unsure of what he wanted to do and unwilling to learn new things, thus wasting a lot of valuable time. This card came up when he came to a point where he had to learn new skills and learn fast. He started learning new technologies and interviewing for various jobs he never thought of before. he also saw that his knowledge of foreign language may come very handy in landing some great opportunities in the workforce. There was also a surprising change in him where all of a sudden he became willing and eager to move forward, learn and apply new skills and even went back to doing his P90x exercises.

8 of Swords

December 20th

My story:
I usually get this card when I am disconnected from my higher self and I start worrying about things that do not exist and imagining the worst possible. Like once I was worried about my mother and could not sleep all night thinking that my mother is in pain or hurt and I kept getting images of my mother in tears. I called my mother first thing in the morining to find out she was doing fine and had a good night sleep.

General Meaning:
A person who is brainwashed, unable to see his or her own circumstanc for what they are, as well as disconnection from the intuitive self. There is also a sense of danger where no danger exists. Self-policing.

10 of Swords

December 12th

My story:
Being stabbed in the back. But even though someone else commited this dishonorable act, you might be the one to blame. The whole stabbing in the back thing might be just your imagination. Putting aside all that is in your head, try to think about what you might have done to cause that person to act that way. The root of the problem might be in your own behavior and other person's actions are just a rebellion against you trying to control them.

General Meaning:
Hititng rock bottom. It's time to let go of an old situation and move on to something new. the experience of betrayal of trust or being backstabbed by associates means you may have been expanding beyond your personal jurisdiction and trying to control too much. letting go of some outmoded habit will set you free. Don't expect others to do your bidding; you will be disappointed by their rebellion.

Queen of Swords

Deceber 4th

My story:
Having a void in your heart that nothing seems to be able to fill. Do not judge someone just because you do not like how they act, you don't know what is behind their exterior, what have they been through.

Not getting enought of something or not getting what you want. One example would be when a friend applied for a job and did not get it. Another example would be when a friend expected something from a family member but a family member's behavior did not meet their expectations. Feeling of void when your expectations have not been met.
Usually when this card comes up, the void has been caused by something important or at least it's important to the querent.

General Meaning:
A woman who has endured significant losses and has recovered enough to reach out to other; either a widow or she has suffered a loss of a child, she somehow recovered enough from her pain to begin to reach out again. She is creative, smart, and sharptongue. Sometimes referred to as the "bitch".
